STEP UP for young scientists…wherever you are:

Welcome back to another year of the virtual Scotiabank Charity Challenge! Last year’s event was such a HUGE success thanks to your support and participation. Together, we raised $18,800 and travelled 382.76 km. We truly could not have done it without your strong effort and fundraising support. We look forward to another year of fun!

Wherever you are, if you love Scientists in School and want to help our charity recover from the impact of COVID-19 and inspire young scientists across the country, now is your time to lace up those shoes and run/walk for Scientists in School! You can walk, run or jog at a distance of your choice, wherever you like. The best part? You can reach your distance goal in one day, or spread it out over a few days. You can truly make it your own.

Since launching our virtual programming, we have successfully expanded into nearly every province across the country. This has enabled our long-desired vision for every Canadian child to be actively engaged in the seeing, doing and understanding of science become a reality. Every dollar raised helps us support classroom and community workshops that help get kids across Canada excited about science.

How the Virtual Challenge Works:

This is YOUR race! You can run or walk on a treadmill or choose a trail and your own distance for the virtual event. In fact, make it a family affair and get movin’ together. Once complete, you will visit Race Roster to input your race time between Saturday, October 2 to Monday, October 11, 2021 and we will tally up our team’s distance.

How to Sign Up:

Register here: https://raceroster.com/48139?aff=ZH4MG
You can choose from a wide-variety of marathon distance options.

Whenever participants use our registration link above, Scotiabank makes a $5 donation to Scientists in School!

Our Team Goals and Perks:

Our goal is to collectively walk/run/jog 300 km virtually as a team and raise $20,000 for our charity!

Participants will receive:

  1. A souvenir shirt
  2. Unique finishers medal
  3. Running belt
  4. Other race partner goodies
